Brooklyn-born artist Tracey Berglund followed her dream of drawing and traveling all over the world, returning to her hometown several years later to join the flourishing local art scene. Tracey’s illustration clients include The New York Times, IBM, Ogilvy & Mather, Unilever, The Food Network, the Starwood Hotel Group as well as many non-profits.
Tracey’s live graphic recording work allows her to be something between a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ and a visual journalist. Her clients include NASA, IBM, the United Nations, Credit Suisse, DuPont, Ogilvy & Mather, and American Express.
In addition to her present artistic endeavors, Tracey has worked as an Executive Consultant for IBM and as a mobile app designer working on apps leveraging visual/audio and geo recognition technology.
She has given art lessons in a South African orphanage and taught English as a Foreign Language to schoolchildren in Rio de Janeiro. Tracey has created thousands of original label images for Rachael Ray’s 30 minute meals show on the Food Network as well as on-air graphics, designed the intro animation and original art for VH1’s Pop Up Video show and executed live illustrations of passengers on transatlantic flights for Virgin Atlantic.
Tracey can boast of having her drawing materials confiscated multiple times by customs officials in places as diverse as Mozambique, Iceland, Morocco, Japan and Romania.
Despite her lust for travel, Tracey resides in Brooklyn. When she is home she spends much of her time with her two delightfully different, though equally talented sons and her boyfriend who is a drummer. She can also be spotted regularly on the downtown A train or in various jazz pubs and bistros where she draws live portraits to the delight of many.
Tracey is conversational in several languages, including Swedish, Portuguese, French and Spanish. Her favorite band has been and will always be Led Zeppelin.
